Meet your guide at your hotel and departure towards Banh It Cham Towers (the “Silver Tower”), a Hindu complex built in the late 11th–early 12th century under King Harivarman IV of the Vijaya Kingdom. Walk up the hill for a panoramic view and admire the towers’ intricate carvings.

A short drive brings you to the Hoang De Citadel, once Do Ban, capital of the Cham Kingdom of Vijaya for 5 centuries. After Vijaya’s fall in 1471, the site was abandoned until the Tay Son brothers built their imperial city here in 1778 — until the Nguyen Lords reclaimed it in 1802. Enter the forbidden city past two sandstone elephant statues and explore its rare blend of Cham and Vietnamese remains.

From Quy Nhon’s heritage, head to one of its best-kept natural secrets: the Con Chim mangrove forest. Board a local boat at Thi Nai Lagoon and sail into the flooded forest, passing local fishing activities and narrow canals where hundreds of birds roost at night. On the way back, pass a small island village home to around a hundred families.
